Infinity Ward opts for aliens over zombies in the ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Extinction mode

Well that didn’t take long. Activation has released the first glimpse of Call of Duty: Ghosts‘ new Extinction mode, less than a day after images of the new cooperative mode leaked online, and a mysterious video featuring a smoke-morphing alien skull posted to the official Call of Duty Instagram account. The new co-op mode features up to four players fighting off waves of enemy aliens, in what looks to be a replacement for the Treyarch-specific zombie mode.

The fast-paced, horde survival mode will blend FPS base defense, resource scavenging, and class leveling, all within an attractive package gushing with brightly-colored blood and pulsating, extraterrestrial hives. Where’s Ripley when you need her?

Call of Duty: Ghosts arrives on current-gen and next-gen consoles on Nov. 5. In the mean time, take a visual look at the new Call of Duty: Ghosts and a quick gander at the newly-announced Blitz mode.
