Call of Duty XP starts on Friday, take a tour of the grounds with Robert Bowling

Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling is loving his job right now. And why not? Call of Duty XP kicks off on Friday, effectively turning Los Angeles into a temporary pilgrimage site for fans of the first-person shooter series.

Bowling is on site right now, prepping for an event that will give fans their first crack at playing the multiplayer modes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, months ahead of the game’s November release. In the brief video above, Bowling gives a quick tour of the event site, offering looks at the gaming space, the on-site BurgerTown and the life-sized re-creations of The Pit training ground and the Scrapyard multiplayer map. Unseen is whatever event stage is being set up to host Dropkick Murphys and Kanye West performances on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

It looks like a good time. Especially the part where I get to shoot Digital Trends games editor Ryan Fleming with a paintball gun.
