We’ve known that Dead Space 3 was on its way since last Fall, though you could argue that a third one was coming after the ending of the second left it wide-open for a sequel. Last month, EA confirmed that Dead Space 3 would be coming out in 2013.
They brought Isaac Clarke out of vacation for E3 2012 showing off a new trailer and a demo during their press conference. He’s got some friends along with him this time, including another engineer in Carver, as well as Ellie from the first the game.
One of the more interesting and biggest changes to the series is the drop-in/drop-out co-op. Not many games have tried two-player horror but Visceral Games has proven that they can handle tense, horror driven plots lines with the previous Dead Space games. It’ll be interesting to see how they handle two players on screen at the same time.
EA hasn’t confirmed platforms or specific release dates beyond 2013. We can reasonably expect to see Dead Space 3 on PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 since the previous titles were featured on all three consoles.
