It’s been awhile since Tim Burton played around with stop-motion animation for a film. If you’ll remember the last film he made in this style was The Corpse Bride which came out in 2005.
This new one is a black and white, 3D film called Frankenweenie. It follows a young Victor who unexpectedly loses his beloved dog Sparky. As you can guess, he works to bring his dog back to life using science. Victor tries to hide his home-sewn creation but eventually Sparky gets out and terrorizes Victor’s town.
There a few Burton favorites like Winona Ryder with some other famous voices like Martin Short, Martin Landau and Catherine O’Hara.
Frankenweenie will be out in theaters on October 5 in 2D and 3D as well as IMAX 3D.
