Hands on with Sunbrite’s Signature series outdoor TV

The last time we tested one of Sunbrite’s outdoor TVs, it was the company’s super-sturdy commercial model. And boy, did we put that thing through the ringer. This time, we’ve aimed our talents for outdoor tomfoolery at Sunbrite’s new Signature series TV to see how it would hold up under duress.

The Sunbrite Signature series has a lot of the same functionality as its commercial cousin, including a strong stand and bracings, and the same waterproof screw-on panel for cables at the back. However, it also has a sleeker design, as well as better overall performance when it comes to both color reproduction, and video processing. Also new is Sunbrite’s available wireless HDMI transmitter, which will beam everything from your indoor home theater room poolside.

But the fun really starts when you give these TVs a real beating. We threw a lot at this slimmer screen, including powerful jets of water, beach balls, buckets, eggs, and just about any other obstacles you’re likely to find in an outdoor setting. All in all, the TV held up quite well. It’s important to remember to keep these TVs out of direct sunlight if at all possible for the best viewing experience. Other than that, Sunbrite’s Signature series makes for a very durable display that’s a lot of fun for outdoor use, and looks pretty good, too.
