Knuckle is a documentary that follows twelve years of filming in the Irish Traveller community. Travellers are nomadic people who live mostly in Ireland and England, they might be analogous to the Romani people of mainland Europe (they’re also called gypsies). Knuckle looks at the rivalry between traveller families whose feuds are settled or prolonged through one-on-one bare-knuckle fighting bouts. The film is supposed to follow 12 years in the lives of three families the Quinns, Joyces, and Nevins. Specifically, it follows James Mcdonagh who is part of the Quinn clan.
Knuckle premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January but it doesn’t have a US release date yet, the dates shown in the trailer are for the United Kingdom.
