We’ve seen OLED TVs before from LG, but we didn’t expect to see them on shelves so soon. The 77-inch curved 4K OLED display we picked as our favorite product from CES earlier this year will be sold as a production model within the year, with rumors putting the price point in the $20,000 range. That’s a decent chunk of change to pay for a TV, but if you’re a home theater enthusiast, and you’ve been waiting to upgrade, this may be just the ticket.
LG also brought along many other 4K toys, including a 77-inch flexible 4K OLED display that flattens or curves at command, actually reducing reflections. The company also brought out a super-slim 55-inch curved 4K OLED television, but at this size it’s harder to notice the true sharpness of the higher resolution technology.Whether or not OLED technology sticks, we’re excited about these displays, and even more excited to see them actually make it to the market.
Considering upgrading to a 4K OLED display? LG brought a handful of these displays to IFA, and we have a lot to say about them.
