Walking around CES Unveiled is easier said than done, but despite the fact that you can only move about three feet per minute, we still managed to stumble across something cool just a few moments after arriving.
At first glance it looked like yet another GoPro knockoff, but on closer inspection, we realized that Liquid Image’s Ego LS 800 was anything but.
Under the hood, this little camera boasts some serious tech muscle. Much like GoPro, it can record 1080p video at 30 FPS (or 720p at 60 FPS) and is small enough to be mounted just about anywhere
But here’s the kicker — unlike GoPro (0r any other action cam for that matter), the Ego LS 800 is capable of simultaneously recording video and broadcasting it live over LTE. Thanks to an onboard LTE chipset, it can hook into Verizon’s 4G network while you’re out and about.
It’s also a bit more versatile in how it can be used. In addition to running off a rechargeable battery, the LS 800 can be hardwired to a power source for continuous shooting — meaning it can also be used as a security camera in your home.
And the best part? It’s already for sale. 400 bones gets you the camera and the LTE boot that it docks into.
