Modern Warfare 3’s second content collection drops on May 22

In about a week, Modern Warfare 3’s first content collection will be two months old (for some), and you’ve probably torn through the four maps over and over, blowing away your friends and enemies alike. But you’re probably already tired of those maps and itching for some new ground to cover in bodies.

Activision’s ready for you, and players who aren’t Elite members will finally get access to five new maps and a new mode. The new mode is called “Face Off” and puts players in 1v1 or 2v2 matches with two new, smaller maps specifically designed for the mode. The maps included are “Getaway” and “Lookout.” Elite members will get the maps “Aground” and “Erosion” for free starting on May 15, while everyone else gets those maps at a later date.

Multiplayers gets three new maps in “Sanctuary”, “Foundation”, and “Lookout”, plus two new Spec Ops missions titled “Iron Clad” and “Switch Back”. Iron Clad puts one player in a tank, and Switch Back has one player on the ground fighting enemes while their partner helps out from a sniping position.

Content Collection #2 will release on Xbox Live on May 22 for 1200 MS Points, or $15. PC and PlayStation 3 owners can expect the pack about a month later, at least, this has been Activision’s general pattern regarding PS3 and PC releases.
