The Panasonic SC-HTB350 isn’t like most soundbars out there: Panasonic calls it a “multi-positional” speaker system, which essentially means you can assemble it in a couple different ways. It can be put together as a single-piece soundbar to be mounted above or below your TV, or it can be assembled as two individual speakers positioned on both sides of the screen. The set also comes with a wireless subwoofer and a small set-top box to handle inputs, processing, and wireless signal delivery to the subwoofer.
As far as sound quality goes, we found that the system is definitely a step up from your TV’s built-in speakers, but is lackluster overall. The subwoofer was overwhelming at almost all levels, and the midrange frequencies sounded recessed. Higher frequencies sounded okay but lacked clarity, and despite being easy to set up, sound streaming form bluetooth sounded awful most of the time.
