Soul Calibur V – Character Vignette – Cervantes, Xiba, Aeon and Yoshimitsu trailer

Fans of the fighting game series Soul Calibur should get a kick out of this character trailer for the upcoming fifth game, Soul Calibur V. You won’t see anything that’s too unfamiliar from the series. You will see four characters and a special move or two from them.

First up is Xiba, who is new to the series and reminds somewhat of Kilik and Seong Mi-na. Most of that is due to his weapon of choice and his special.

Second is everyone’s favorite undead pirate, Cervantes. You’d think he’d have died by or at least dissolved by now but somehow the dual-wielding swordsman is still chugging along in his demonic form.

Third is the lizard character Aeon Calcos. In previous games he was known as Lizardman. For V he is referred to as a creature of sin. Apparently, he is a servant of Nightmare so the title somewhat fits.

Finally, everyone’s favorite insane god, Yoshimatsu, makes his return with a new special move that involves his face splitting in half and revealing a skull. It’s not as goofy as previous iterations of Yoshimatsu have been.

There is no solid release date for Soul Calibur V but it is slated for 2012.
