The Sony NEX-7 has been a difficult camera. When we first were able to go hands-on with the high-end mirrorless camera and its whopping 24.3-megapixel sensor, it was barely off the manufacturer’s floor and a handful of the mechanics had yet to be finalized. Even still, it was impressive. Then the camera was delayed by natural disasters near Asian manufacturing facilities. It wasn’t until last month that Sony said the Sony NEX-7 was on its way, so it’s been a long time coming to market.
Luckily we were able to get a demo of the finalized unit at CES–and our first (or rather second) impressions are that it’s smaller and faster than we thought it would be. Check it out–and please notice the Earth, Wind & Fire concert in the background as well as a quick shot of a dancing alien. It’s CES, these things are out of our control.
