What’s happened? Apple has pushed the watchOS 26.2 release candidate, the next upgrade for Apple Watch, and it contains Enhanced Safety Alerts.

In the United States, Apple Watch will deliver alerts for imminent threats such as floods, natural disasters, and other emergencies (via 9To5Mac).
Along with alerts, watchOS 26.2 should be able to display rich information, such as maps of affected areas and links to safety guidance.
In addition to enhanced emergency alerts, the upcoming watchOS version will refine the existing sleep-scope classifications and improve notification controls.wat
