I have seen so many complaints regarding this tablet and issues that have come with it inherently. yes I will admit the standard launcher system for this device is glitchy and does freeze. however I did find a little workaround. as I said one of the problems with this device is the launcher that comes system standard. if you download a program on the Google play market called Nova launcher then set that as you were default launcher program everything starts running flawlessly! now only time will tell on how long this lasts. we shall see what we shall see LOL

definitely good for the price

The unit I received has a stuck pixel close to the bottom of the screen meaning there's an annoying dot that's always brightly glowing the wrong color.  This is the reason why I can't give full marks for the tablet. 

Aside from that, the tablet performs decently and as expected for tablets at this price range. It's not a Samsung or a Lenovo tablet so don't expect it to be as snappy as those. Walmart's own Onn brand tablets perform as well or better than this tablet at the price point. 

The Gateway branding is the only reason I bought this, but it's not because Gateway is great tablet brand. It was more nostalgia based. In this case, the Gateway branding is just slapped on an fairly generic Android tablet that really has nothing new or unique to offer.

Tablet has Quality Control Issues But Peforms Ok

when I ordered this I wasn't expecting it to be such a disappointment to be honest , Gateway was the only reason I bought it the brand name never let's me down until now , despite that not just 1 or 2 but several of my important apps were not specified for the device , I figured it be ok since  my phone would take care of that issue but what really ruined it all for me was when it crashed and rebooted  due to overload , and my disk memory and ram were way under no where near full. 
the tablet is good I am going to keep it I didn't lose much with this price but I don't recommend it.

Gateway

The Onn brand 8" tablet is superior ..as are the samsung tablets and the Amazon fires.... I'd say the gateway is a tier above a cheap Chinese knockoff. That's unfortunate because I used to love gateway. Cheaply made. Substandard operation. Wouldn't buy again.
