Don’t Starve developer Klei Entertainment has announced that the game’s island-based Shipwrecked expansion is set to debut on the PlayStation 4 on August 2. The DLC was previously released for the PC version of the game in December 2015.

Shipwrecked takes the survival gameplay of Don’t Starve and ratchets up the difficulty by surrounding players with the briny depths of the ocean. The expansion introduces a host of new characters, biomes and creatures, as well as some seasonal effects that aren’t present in the base game.

Players begin the game by waking up in a boat that’s been turned to splinters after being dashed on the rocks. The setting of a randomized archipelago of island plays host to gameplay that will be easily recognizable to seasoned Don’t Starve players, but with enough new content to warrant a return to the title.

Whether it’s a mutiny of monkeys stealing previous supplies, or the dreaded Quacken rising from the waters to screech and bite with furious anger, there’s no shortage of deadly and devious challenges in Shipwrecked. Anyone who was drawn in by the difficulty of Don’t Starve will find plenty to enjoy in the expansion.

While the base game was developed and published by Klei Entertainment, Shipwrecked sees the studio collaborate with another talented indie developer. Capybara Games, the team behind Super Time Force and the critically lauded Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP, was enlisted to help out with the expansion.

Unfortunately, PlayStation Vita owners are being left out in the cold — developer Corey Rollins noted that there are no plans to bring the expansion to the handheld, in the comments section of its announcement post on the PlayStation Blog.

PlayStation 4 owners will be able to purchase Shipwrecked via the PlayStation Store from August 2, and PlayStation Plus subscribers will be granted a 10 percent discount on the DLC as part of a promotion marking its debut.

One of Steam's biggest success stories of 2026 has suddenly found itself at the center of a security scare. A security researcher has discovered that a community-made Meccha Chameleon Workshop map contained code designed to write files outside the game and launch a hidden PowerShell process that attempted to download an additional payload from an external server.

If you've been curious about Xbox Cloud Gaming but didn't want another monthly subscription, Microsoft may have a new option for you. The company is testing a free, ad-supported version of Xbox Cloud Gaming for Xbox Insiders, allowing eligible players to stream select games they already own without a Game Pass membership.

However, you'll have to watch a short advertisement before your session begins. Microsoft says the ads will never interrupt gameplay, making this an early test of whether a simple tradeoff can bring cloud gaming to more players.

LOQ 17 gaming laptop

Lenovo has expanded its LOQ gaming laptop lineup with a new graphics option. The company has introduced a refreshed version of the LOQ 17IRX10, pairing Intel's Core i7-14700HX processor with Nvidia's newly announced GeForce RTX 5070 12GB laptop GPU. The update gives buyers another configuration to choose from without changing the overall design or feature set of the laptop.

The new variant joins Lenovo's existing LOQ 17IRX10 lineup, which was previously available with GeForce RTX 5050, RTX 5060, and RTX 5070 8GB graphics options. While the chassis remains unchanged, the addition of a 12GB RTX 5070 brings more VRAM to the series, a specification that has become increasingly important as modern AAA games demand larger texture caches and higher memory capacity.
