The LS35X is a wireless gaming headset that’s set to be made available this holiday season. The device will pair with Project Scorpio just like a wireless controller, eliminating the need for any distracting cables, according to a report from IGN.
While the LS35X has been designed with Project Scorpio in mind, it’s set to be compatible with the wider Xbox ecosystem. The headset can connect to standard Xbox One consoles, and even Windows 10 PCs, although an Xbox Wireless Adapter will likely be required in the latter scenario.
The LS35X is officially licensed by Microsoft, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that the company won’t field its own wireless headset as well. Project Scorpio is being treated as a major new hardware release, rather than a minor revision, so it wouldn’t be too surprising to see an updated range of official accessories launch alongside the system.
In any case, we can expect to see a great deal more of Project Scorpio over the next few months, as we head toward its late 2017 release window. The console will be shown at E3 2017 in June, at which point we’re likely to find out its official name and catch our first glimpse of its physical design.
It remains to be seen whether Project Scorpio will make a bigger impact than the PlayStation 4 Pro, which launched in 2016. Both Sony and Microsoft are rethinking the longstanding concept of clearly defined console generations, but gamers could still reject the changes that are being proposed.
