Firefox 4 Beta 9 brings a host of cool new features to Firefox. It’s faster to launch, includes new bookmarking.

Firefox 4 Beta 9 is built to meet the demands of today’s Web users. It offers greater control over browsing, with brand new features such as the App Tabs and Panorama to make it easier to navigate the web and visit your favorite sites. Firefox 4 Beta 9 also includes performance enhancements that speed up the popular browser, making everything faster from start-up time to page-load speed and the performance of Web applications and games.

Also included in this release, Firefox Sync is integrated into the browser, giving you access to your Awesome Bar history, bookmarks, open tabs and passwords across computers and smartphones.

Firefox 4 Beta 9 makes it easier for web developers to create apps and Websites. This release includes full support for HTML5, WebM and HD video, 3D graphic rendering with WebGL, hardware acceleration and the Mozilla Audio API to help create visual experiences for sound.

Firefox currently has 400 million users worldwide and relies on the feedback and testing from its community. If you’d like to test this release, you simply need to update your version of Firefox and report issues with anything from games, video and music to graphics and forms through the Feedback button on the browser.

Firefox 4 is an important release for Mozilla in an increasingly competitive landscape. Google Chrome already has roughly 10% of the browser market and IE 9 has corrected many of the errors of its predecessors. Firefox has surpassed IE in Europe, but in order to keep up the pace, the open source browser relies heavily on feedback from its users.

Entering into a meeting with your boss and several familiar coworkers inside a video conference is the next area vulnerable to cybercrimes, and it's all because of deepfake technology. Researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Secure Information Technology SIT are working on a real-time warning system designed to identify attempted fraud during corporate video conferences.

The report states that criminals are increasingly targeting video meetings for identity theft and financial scams, taking advantage of the trust people place in familiar faces and voices. The intention is to flag suspicious activity while the meeting is still taking place. This gives an employee a chance to stop before following an expensive instruction from an AI-generated executive.

Now, Microsoft is formally asking Apple to provide interoperable clipboard access through the company’s European Union interoperability process. The request, submitted on March 25, argues that iOS restrictions prevent third-party platforms from creating an experience comparable to Apple’s Universal Clipboard. Apple has now reached Phase III and committed to developing a solution.
