Remember last year when N-Control came out with a clamp-on add-on for the standard Xbox 360 controller that added hair triggers and an analog stick for hard-core gaming enthusiasts? This year, N-Control is doing the same thing for the PlayStation 3, announcing the N-Control Avenger controller for the PlayStation 3 is available now in a limited edition. The idea is the same: the Avenger controller gloms onto the standard PS3 controller, offering a stabilizer stand, hair triggers, and analog sticks—all of which can be adjusted and dialed in to a gamer’s precise needs.
“It enhances the gamer’s manual dexterity and situational awareness by improving accuracy and reaction time,” says the Avenger’s lead designer David Kotkin, in a statement. “This sophisticated accessory is specially engineered for those who want to push their gaming abilities to new heights.”
N-Control says the Avenger can help out with games like Battlefield 3, Madden NFL 2012, Gears of War 3, Killzone 2, Resistance 3, and others, but they really have their sights set on Infinity Ward’s upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and its new multiplayer Spec Ops mode. Modern Warfare 3 is due to ship November 8, 2011—that’s the same timeframe N-Control plans to have the PS3 version of the Avenger out to retailers, but in the meantime 5,000 units are available now in a limited edition directly from N-Control for $48.99.
