Sony today unveiled the March 2024 lineup of new games for the PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra catalog. Jak and Daxter fans, whom PlayStation and Naughty Dog rarely acknowledge, got a win today as the PSP version of Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier is getting rereleased for the first time via PlayStation Plus Premium on March 19.

Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier was released for PSP and PS2 in 2009 and is the closest thing we’ve ever gotten to a Jak 4. Although it’s not as well-polished as Naughty Dog’s trilogy, it’s an important piece of Jak and Daxter history that wasn’t easily playable outside of original hardware until this month. Hopefully, this sets the stage for PS Plus Premium rerelease of Daxter will eventually happen, although that isn’t confirmed at this time.

The PlayStation Blog post announcing this lineup also revealed that the first season of My Hero Academia will be available for no additional cost on Sony Pictures Core to PS Plus Premium members starting March 13. It’s a rare multimedia bonus to Sony’s subscription service.

Be aware that the following games will leave the PS Plus Game Catalog on March 19.

  • Tchia
  • Sid Meier’s Civilization VI
  • GhostWire: Tokyo
  • NEO The World Ends With You
  • Haven
  • Code Vein

Madden has been available on phones for years, but its mobile versions have never offered the same depth as the main console games. EA is now bringing a more substantial version to Apple Arcade through Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition, which launches on August 6.

As per EA, the game focuses on full NFL seasons, franchise management, and 11-on-11 matches. Players can manage trades, free agency, and roster changes before taking their team through the regular season and playoffs. Quick Play is also included for anyone who wants to skip the management side and start an exhibition match.

Electronics, Phone, Mobile Phone

GameNative is making it much easier for Android players to commit one of PC gaming’s oldest crimes against storage space. Its v1.1.1 pre-release adds Nexus Mods integration, cutting out much of the file shuffling usually required to get PC game mods running on a phone.

According to GameNative’s official release notes, users can sign in to a Nexus account and download mods through the app. Downloads can be paused and resumed too, so losing your connection shouldn’t force you back to the beginning.

Sony has announced that the PlayStation Store’s Summer Sale will begin on July 15, bringing discounts of up to 75% across hundreds of PS5, PS4, and PS VR2 games. Add-ons, expansion packs, and special editions will also be included.

The full list of prices will appear once the sale goes live, but Sony has already confirmed plenty of major games for the promotion. The early lineup covers recent releases, PlayStation exclusives, and several older titles that may be worth revisiting at a lower price.
