Texas Instruments Preps 1080p DLP Chips

Add as a preferred source on Google

“At the moment, the best that DLP can support is 720p, which means that 1080i and 1080p material has to be down-sampled. With the new chips, 1080p source material will be viewable at native resolution. Currently, High Definition material is broadcast in the US and Japan at either 720p or 1080i with 1080p material limited to professioanl production and archiving use.

The move to 1080p for DLP, means that we can expect projectors that offer native support to be available in the UK by the time Sky begins its 1080i broadcasts in 2006, though it is likely that these will be limited to expensive high-end products.”

Netflix’s new AI Discover tool will ask about your mood and tell you what to watch
The broad idea is that you simply tell it what you’re in the mood to watch, and the AI handpicks movies and TV shows accordingly.
AI Discover on Netflix

Netflix has started testing a new feature called AI Discover, which aims to make it easier for users to find something worth watching instead of mindlessly scrolling through its catalog of films and TV series. The broad idea is that you simply tell it what you’re in the mood to watch, and the AI handpicks movies and TV shows accordingly.

Netflix says AI Discover has been built around themes, which help users narrow down their choices instead of going through a list of genre presets or content types. For example, you can pick themes like a family movie, something lighthearted, something scary, or something suited to a quick watch. Once you’ve selected a theme, the AI will dive into Netflix’s catalog and show you the right content.

Adobe Premiere mobile app is getting licensed music from Universal and Warner Music
On the editing side, there’s a bit of a restriction, as users can only add 60 seconds of a song to their video.
Adobe Premiere ona laptop

Adobe has just announced that it’s bringing licensed music from Universal Music Group (UMG) and Warner Music Group (WMG) to its Adobe Premiere mobile app. Thanks to the partnership, users will be able to search for and find music from these two giants right in the app.

For social media users, this partnership also solves a huge problem. When people post content with music playing in the background, it’s often flagged for copyright violations on social media platforms. Now, if they pick a soundtrack distributed by either Universal Music Group or Warner Music Group, they can simply add it to their videos and post them freely across social media for personal use, without having to worry about copyright strikes and takedown notices.
