T-Mobile Opens Up Three Samsung Flip Phones

Wireless operator T-Mobile has launched three new Samsung clamshell-style mobile phones desined to appeal to a broad range of everyday cell phone users.

The all-white Samsung t609 functions as an MP3 player, sports a microSD slot for pictures and tunes, a 1.3 megapixel camera with 4x digital zoom and video capture capability, Bluetooth for synchronization and hands-free connectivity, a built-in speakerphone, compatibility with AIM, Yahoo, and ICQ instant messaging, and support for dealing and launching applications via voice commands. Th t609 is about $150 after rebate, with qualified service plans.

The Samsung t209 is available in red and blue supports Yahoo and AIM instant messaging and offers a speakerphone, voice notes, MMS messaging, and the usual passel of bundles mini-applications like a stopwatch, phone book, alarm, calendar, and calculator. But the best part may be the price: just $20 after rebate with qualified calling plans.

The Samsung t319 offers a VGA camera with a 4x digital zoom, Yahoo, AIM, and ICQ messaging, text and picture messaging, a built-in Web browser, speakerphone, and external caller ID display. Not high-end, but not high-price either: roughly $40 after rebate, with qualified service plans.

The new Samsung phones are available immediately through T-Mobile retail locations and from T-Mobile’s Web site.

Samsung just launched a $400 phone in the U.S., and it looks great

A little over a month ago, Samsung announced two new entries in its Galaxy A family — the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35. Both phones made their way to the U.K. and Europe, but we've been left waiting for a U.S. release. Thankfully, that waiting has now come to an end.

As of April 18, the Galaxy A35 is now available for purchase in the U.S. from Samsung.com, Samsung's retail stores, and at "major carriers and retailers."
