Sony Computer Entertainment has shipped Untold Legends Dark Kingdom fantasy role playing game for PlayStation 3 to retailers, meaning that anybody who has enough forethought or luck to set hands on a PS3 system at (or shortly after) the console’s launch tomorrow should be able to set hands on a made-for-PS3 RPG title in short order.
Dark Kingdom is set in the same world as two previous Untold Legends titles developed for the PSP, and enables players to choose one of three characters on a hack-and-slash journey through dungeons, caverns, villages, and the lair of an evil warlord. Along the way, characters can unlock spells, collect weapons, armor, and other items, and—of course—smash up their surroundings and even use enemy characters as (unwilling) weapons. The Untold Legends stories are developed by fantasy novelist Keith Baker, known for Dungeons and Dragons novelizations, and the PS3 title is designed to feature mechanics, audio and video effects, and physics-based action enabled by the new console.
Untold Legends Dark Kingdom is rated T for “Teen” by the ESRB and carries a suggested retail price of $59.99.
