Capybara Games’ Super Time Force won’t be making its 2013 release anymore, but it will now be coming out in 2014 for both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles. The studio is also bringing the top-down adventure game Below to Xbox One. Both that and the 360 version of Super Time Force are set to be published by Microsoft Game Studios, but the Xbox One version of Time Force will be self-published by Capy under the ID@Xbox program.
“To accommodate development of the Xbox One version, and to make sure we bring you the best game possible, we’re moving the release date,” a blog post on the dev’s official site reads. “While we had originally intended to release this year, the opportunity to do Super Time Force on Xbox One, plus the sheer insanity of releasing during new console launches meant that moving a few months into 2014 was the best plan for our game.”
Work on Below will carry on concurrently with Super Time Force, just as it was before Capybara added Xbox One to the latter game’s list of release platforms. Super Time Force is a side-scrolling bullet-hell shooter with a twist. Players get 30 lives to run through the game, but are able to rewind the clock on a previous death between lives. There’s been a lot of positive preview buzz around the Xbox Live Arcade release, and the addition of an Xbox One version will help to ensure that the entire Xbox-playing community is aware of it.
