Magellan Gets Primordial Off-road Routing

GPS maker Magellan has announced a partnership with Primordial Inc., to bring Primordial’s Ground Guidance software to future Magellan Triton GPS units. Primordial’s Ground Guidance enables users to plug-in regional content packs to their GPS units to implement off-road routing capabilities, avoiding dense forests, lakes, rivers, and other natural and man-made obstacles to find a route between two points without connecting roads. Ground Guidance is the result of over six years of development, and received more than $2 million in funding from the U.S. Army.
