Motorola has taken the wraps off two new navigation units, the Motonav TN20 and Motonav TN30, that may not have all the bells and whistles of high-end models, but ought to get the job done for typical travelers trying to get around the United States (or Canada!). The units feature touchscreens and Bluetooth connectivity for handsfree use, and will be available exclusively through electronics retailer RadioShack.
“Motorola is pleased to work with RadioShack to provide drivers with GPS navigation systems that are designed and tested for durability and ease of use,” said Motorola’s general manager for companion products Sean Ramsey, in a statement. “TN20 is the ideal unit for first-time or experienced GPS users to easily get them where they need to go and TN30 is designed for those who are looking to combine navigation and Bluetooth hands-free calling at a great price.”
The Motonav TN20 offers a 3.5-inch 320 by 240-pixel touchscreen display, preloaded maps of the continental U.S. from Navteq, 2D and 3D map perspectives, the ability to zoom and move maps with a fingertip, spoken street names and turn-by-turn directions, and a speed limit display and warning system. The unit also features a USB port for charging, and an SD slot for adding updated maps. The TN20 should be available now for $199.99.
The Motonav TN30 offers the same features as the TN20, but expands out to a 4.3-inch, 480 by 272-pixel touchscreen display, adds maps of Puerto Rico and Canada, and has a database of over 4 million points of interest (up from a mere million in the TN20). The TN30 also boasts on-screen speed, distance, arrival time, elevation, and distance travelled as well as fastest and shortest route displays. The Motonav TN30 should be available now for a suggested price of $299.99.
