T-Mobile has announced it will be launching its the Dash 3G smartphone beginning in July, following up on the company’s popular Dash offering. The Dash 3G—built by HTC and otherwise known as the HTC Snap—sports a full QWERTY keyboard with trackball, sports Wi-Fi and mobile 3G connectivity, offers an integrated GPS, and runs Windows Mobile 6.1 so users can tie in to Outlook, Exchange, and all sort of other enterprise goodies from the Microsoft universe.
“T-Mobile is offering our first 3G-enabled Windows Mobile smartphone to help customers stay connected, organized, and traveling in the right direction,” said T-Mobile’s director of product marketing Travis Warren, in a statement. “We’re excited to offer the power and style of the T-Mobile Dash 3G with high-speed Internet access thanks to T-Mobile’s rapidly expanding 3G network.”
Although T-Mobile is touting the pending availability of the Dash 3G, it has yet to release pricing or service details: we assume T-Mobile will be looping the Dash with T-Mobile services offerings like myFaves, but no details are available.
T-Mobile, the fourth-largest U.S. mobile carrier, claims that its network now offers 3G service to more than 200 million people by the end of the year, up from 100 million or so at the end of 2008.
