WhatsApp finally lets iPhone users run two accounts on the same device

One update, four fixes: WhatsApp gets dual iPhone accounts, smarter storage, seamless cross-platform transfers, and Meta AI tools baked right in.

WhatsApp has rolled out a major update rolling from March 26, and it genuinely makes me wonder what took so long. There are four key additions, enabling smarter storage management, cross-platform chat transfer, Meta AI tools, and, most importantly, dual accounts on iPhone.

iPhone users can finally ditch their second phone

Yes, and it’s about time. Apple users can now run two WhatsApp accounts simultaneously on one iPhone, eliminating the need for a second phone (iPhone or Android phone) to keep work and personal lives separate. Android has had this feature since 2023, for those catching up.

As part of the feature, a profile picture in the tab bar tells users which account they’re currently using (similar to how we have profile pictures on Instagram). This is quite familiar and handy, as it will prevent you from texting your boss a meme meant for your best friend.

Next, WhatsApp tackles a problem every media-heavy group chat creates: a bloated phone with no storage. Users can now find and delete large files directly within any chat. To do this, tap the chat name, select Manage Storage, then delete the files you think are using too much storage.

The feature is quite useful, as it helps you clear the clutter without wiping the entire conversation. You can choose to remove only media (photos and videos), leaving your text history intact.

What happens to your chat when you switch phones?

The answer: nothing gets left behind anymore. The updated chat transfer tool now supports moving conversations from iOS to Android, in addition to within the same platform, bringing messages, photos, and videos along with you in a couple of taps.

Last but not least, users can now use Meta AI to edit photos before sending. The tool can help remove distractions, swap backgrounds, and apply styles. Meanwhile, a writing assistant can draft suggested replies based on conversation context. And don’t worry, the platform claims that chats still remain entirely private.

I tried a hidden video trick in iOS 27, and it saved me a ton of frustration
Better quality, smaller file size, and no status bar. iOS 27's video frame feature beats screenshots on every count.

If you've ever been on vacation and chose to record video instead of taking photos only to avoid missing the fun moments, thinking you’d pause and take screenshots later, you might have ended up questioning your decision later.

You see, the process involves multiple steps, starting from hunting for the right frame, pausing, and taking a screenshot. If it doesn’t look good, you go back to the video, pause somewhere else, and try taking another screenshot. You see where I’m going with this?

Apple's iPhone launch calendar may get a lot busier in 2027. A new leak claims the company has six new iPhone models lined up across the year, and if most of it is accurate, we could be looking at the biggest iPhone roadmap in years.

According to known tipster, Digital Chat Station, Apple’s early 2027 lineup could include the iPhone Air 2, iPhone 18, and iPhone 18e. The fall lineup is expected to bring next-generation Pro models and a second foldable iPhone, reportedly referred to as iPhone Ultra 2.
