If you make videos, edit photos, or produce music on your Mac, Apple has some good news for you. The company has announced a major update to Apple Creator Studio, packed with new effects and smarter tools. It will arrive on the App Store in November as a free update for existing subscribers.

How does it make video editing easier?

Final Cut Pro for Mac now has MotionVFX built right in, giving you a massive library of titles, transitions, and color grading tools. If you need a quick filler shot, you can grab stock footage from Apple’s Content Hub without leaving your edit.

My favorite addition is the Pixelmator Pro integration. If an image on your timeline needs a touch-up, you can send it to Pixelmator Pro, and your edits will show up in your project on their own. You can also generate images by typing a description and add captions in 23 more languages.

Editing photos is now as easy as describing them

Pixelmator Pro’s new Generate Fill tool lets you change any part of a photo by telling the app what you want. You draw a rough circle around the area you want to edit and describe what should go there.

It keeps the lighting, angles, and textures consistent with the rest of the image, and you can place the result on its own layer to keep refining it.

What’s in it for music creators?

Logic Pro for Mac gets a fresh Liquid Glass look and a new intelligent assistant in beta. Just type what you need, and it can get a new song started or prep your vocal recording for you. The Stem Splitter can now pull drums out of a finished song, which is great news for anyone who loves remixing.

Finding sounds is easier too. The redesigned Browser gathers your loops, instruments, and Splice library into a single spot, and Logic Pro tags everything you add so you can search for it later. Salsa fans should also check out the new Producer Pack from 20-time Grammy winner Sergio George.

Productivity apps aren’t left out either. Keynote, Pages, and Numbers get their own assistants, which can help you build better slides, reshape your writing, and choose a chart that suits your data. Whether you are cutting a vlog or making your first beat, this update gives you a lot more creative power for free.

Smart displays have promised to run my entire house for years. However, I mostly end up using them as fancy kitchen timers or home security monitors. Amazon’s newest one wants to change my mind, and it comes with a serious price tag.

The company just unveiled the Echo Show 16. It is a 16-inch smart display that isn’t just a kitchen timer but a small TV, thanks to built-in Fire TV. The baseline version costs $499.99, and the anti-glare version costs $569.99. Pre-orders get $100 off; the device ships late this year.

After five years with Apple silicon, from the original M1 MacBook Air to the M5 MacBook Air released earlier this year, I've watched these chips mature not just on the spec sheet, but in real-world workflows and overall efficiency.

The new M6 chip might sound like a routine generational upgrade, but it's the company's first chip built on a 2nm manufacturing process, which brings meaningful improvements over previous Apple chips.

The mobile app lets you capture up to an hour of live audio and immediately use it as a notebook source
Gemini Notebook update for students

Gemini Notebook’s mobile app now has a built-in recorder for capturing lectures and meetings as sources. You can record directly where you’ll use the material, skipping the separate recording app and the file upload afterward.

Google announced the feature on X, highlighting classroom lectures and team meetings as potential uses. It also works for capturing your own thoughts, so you can talk through an idea and bring that explanation into your notebook while it’s still fresh.
