Supergirl has clearly not been facing any bad-ratings kryptonite. CBS has just extended the action drama’s full-season order to 20 episodes, adding seven, reports THR. The series was originally picked up for a full season in May.

The DC Comics adaptation was the most watched premiere of the fall season, drawing in 12.9 million viewers and a 3.1 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic. The series has since gone on to average a 2.8 rating, tying with NBC’s Blindspot as fall’s highest-rated debut. Interestingly (but perhaps not coincidentally), both shows are executive produced by Greg Berlanti, who is behind The CW’s Arrow and Flash as well.

Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El, one of the last surviving Kryptonians. Like her cousin Superman, Kara escaped her home planet and ended up on Earth. After years of wanting to blend in and trying to hide her superhuman abilities, she decides to follow in the footsteps of her famous cape-clad relative.

In addition to Benoist, Supergirl stars Calista Flockhart, Mehcad Brooks, Chyler Leigh, Jeremy Jordan, and David Harewood. The series is produced by Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Ali Adler, Andrew Kreisberg, and Sarah Schechter executive produce alongside Berlanti.

As THR points out, a 20-episode season is slightly shorter than the typical order, but the superhero drama calls for a lot of special effects. Considering that the previous order was 13, seven more episodes is a significant addition — one that viewers will undoubtedly welcome.

Berlanti reached out to fans in a tweet on Monday to encourage them to celebrate the addition of new episodes by watching.

Supergirl airs on Mondays at 8/7 c on CBS.

Like the Netflix sci-fi movie Atlas? Then watch these three great films now
A woman looks at an AI interface in Atlas.

Netflix's latest action movie, Atlas, takes on one of the more pressing and existential issues of our time: artificial intelligence. The film, which stars Jennifer Lopez, follows a data analyst with a deep mistrust for AI who discovers that it may be the only way to take down a super soldier who is hell-bent on destroying humanity.

Although AI and movies about it feel more relevant than ever, this is hardly the first time that AI has been featured prominently in this kind of story. Long before we had the kind of real-world AI that we see today, we had movies that tackled the question head-on. We've selected three movies that expertly tackle the subject.
