OpenAI is expanding ChatGPT’s role in the workplace with ChatGPT Slides, a new presentation-building feature that lets users create, edit, and collaborate on slide decks directly within the platform. Announced in OpenAI’s October 16 release notes, the feature is designed to take users from an initial idea to a finished presentation without requiring them to manage every step manually.

Users can start with an existing ChatGPT conversation, uploaded files, an outline, or a sample presentation that guides the design. ChatGPT can then turn that material into an editable deck, generate custom images, and help refine text, visuals, and charts. Users can also edit individual elements themselves or ask ChatGPT to make specific changes.

The feature could appeal to professionals who regularly prepare business reviews, client proposals, product launches, and team updates. Instead of starting with a blank slide and manually arranging every element, users can focus on the message they want to communicate while ChatGPT helps organise the content and presentation.

Teams can edit presentations together in real time

One of ChatGPT Slides’ key features is collaborative editing. Users can invite teammates to work on the same presentation, make changes simultaneously and leave shared comments. ChatGPT can also help implement feedback, revise wording, update charts, and maintain consistency across slides.

This could make the feature particularly useful for teams that repeatedly revise presentations before meetings or client pitches. Rather than passing files back and forth and merging feedback manually, colleagues can work on a shared deck and ask ChatGPT to handle specific revisions.

Users can also provide an existing presentation as a reference, helping ChatGPT follow a preferred visual style and layout. This matters for businesses that need presentations to follow established branding rather than look like generic AI-generated slides.

PowerPoint and Google Slides exports are supported

Once a deck is ready, users can present it directly within ChatGPT or export it to PowerPoint, PDF, or Google Slides on the web. On supported desktop setups, presentations can also be opened in PowerPoint or Keynote. The exported content remains editable, allowing users to continue refining it in their preferred software.

There is, however, an important limitation: ChatGPT Slides is rolling out to eligible Pro, Business, and Enterprise users with Space access. It is not currently a feature available to every ChatGPT account, so access will depend on the user’s plan and workspace eligibility.

The launch also does not eliminate the need to review AI-generated work. Users should verify figures, sources, charts, and other factual claims before presenting or sharing a deck, particularly when it contains business or financial information.

For now, ChatGPT Slides represents a push towards making AI useful throughout the presentation workflow, from drafting and design to collaboration and delivery. Its value will depend on how well it handles complex layouts, preserves formatting, and translates rough source material into a coherent story. For professionals who spend hours building presentations, the promise is straightforward: less time wrestling with slides and more time improving the ideas behind them.

Google Chrome’s new early warning system could help you spot scam sites
Chrome can now flag websites that look suspicious even when Safe Browsing is not confident enough to call them dangerous.
Chrome

Anyone who has used Google Chrome has probably seen the red warning screen when they click a suspicious link or try to visit a potentially dangerous website. Google is now beefing up this warning system by adding a new layer that will flag websites that seem fishy, even when Safe Browsing does not have enough confidence to classify them as outright dangerous.

The new Suspicious sites category is being added to Chrome’s Enhanced Protection mode and will sit below the existing Dangerous sites classification. Google says these are pages that show deceptive patterns commonly associated with malicious websites, but where Safe Browsing has a lower-confidence verdict.

ChatGPT now has locked chats to keep your sensitive conversations hidden
Locked Chats keeps your private conversations out of that loop by also shielding it away from the chatbot's memory.
Locked Chats for ChatGPT

OpenAI has rolled out a new ChatGPT feature that lets you tuck away your more sensitive conversations behind a lock. It’s called Locked Chats, and it’s the first time I’ve seen this kind of protection on a major AI chatbot. The idea is pretty straightforward, as is clearly evident by the name.

When you move an existing conversation into the Locked Chats section, it is protected by a PIN when you use ChatGPT in a web browser or through the desktop app. On phones and tablets, the protection goes a step further. Besides your device passcode, you can unlock these chats with biometrics, such as Face ID on an iPhone or a fingerprint sensor on Android devices.
