I/OMagic Set to Ship New GigaBank 6.0

The GigaBank 6.0. The GigaBank 6.0 has up to 6 GB of storage capacity in a mini (2″x0.5″x2.5″) and lightweight (less than two ounces) unit designed to store or back-up files, store MP3s or transferfiles from one computer to another.

“The GigaBank 6.0 is perfect for anyone on the go,” said Tony Andrews, Vice President of Engineering and Product Development for I/OMagic Corporation. “It is pocket size so you can take important files with you anywhere. You’ll never have to be without the information you need with the GigaBank 6.0.”

The GigaBank 6.0 is powered through a USB 2.0 port (which is also USB 1.1 backwards compatible) which, when not in use, can be conveniently tucked into its enclosure. It comes with a carrying case, an extension cable for hard to reach USB ports and it requires no battery or power adapter.

The GigaBank 6.0 is hot swappable (a device that can be plugged/unplugged into a computer while the computer is on) and it supports Windows XP/2000/ME/98SE.

I/OMagic anticipates shipping its new GigaBank 6.0 in May 2005 with an introductory suggested retail price of $199. The Company also currently offers GigaBank products in 2.2GB, 4.0GB, 20GB, 40GB, 60GB, 80GB and 100GB options.

Google Gemini can now create and edit PDFs, documents, and more right inside your chat

Google has recently released many updates introducing new features to its AI suite, and the latest one could save users dealing with documents a lot of tedious work. The company has added the ability to create, preview, and edit documents, PDFs, presentations, spreadsheets, and code directly within Gemini conversations. Previously, you could generate and download files, but now you can work on them without leaving the chat.

Reddit is making login mandatory for all users of the platform. In a lengthy post, the Reddit chief explained that the company is moving to a permanently logged-in experience because it wants to offer users more personalization, helping them find content that’s more relevant to their interests and tastes.

The core idea, according to the company, is to nudge users into joining more communities and engaging with content through comments, votes, and more. The company, however, assures that the change won’t affect anonymity, which has long been one of the platform’s core appeals. The sign-up flow isn’t changing either. You won’t be required to submit any information beyond what’s already needed to create a Reddit account.

Security firm Socket says it found over 300 Chrome extensions that quietly swap a user’s default search engine and route every search through servers controlled by the people behind them before it reaches Bing or Yahoo. Even more alarming, these extensions have reportedly racked up roughly 13.4 million installs over the past decade.
