Newegg Announces New Website Design

Newegg.com, a new breed of e-marketer offering computer hardware and software, consumer electronics and communications and networking equipment from an online superstore, has performed an intense overhaul and rebuild of the company’s website. The new site offers a host of aesthetic and functional improvements designed to enhance the user experience.

A list of refined product categories and new intuitive navigation methods allow customers to perform more effective product research. Those enhancements alone are not the only things a visitor will notice. Visitors to the new site will be immediately struck by the radiant Newegg gold and orange hues as well as an intuitive website layout and design. The new look is expected to appeal even to those visitors for whom online shopping is uncharted territory.

“Newegg.com’s new website design has been rebuilt based upon our customers’ feedback,” explained Simon Hsieh, CEO of Newegg.com. “Our design, development and marketing teams have worked diligently to incorporate the wish list of features and to create an extremely user-friendly navigation that will enhance the shopping experience for both novices and pros alike. Our short-term goal was to create a place where everyone could learn about and then shop for the latest in digital convergence lifestyles.”

With enhanced Product Comparison and the newly developed Expert Opinions section (which will feature product reviews and editorial content from a variety of award-winning technology publications), the new site offers tools that make researching product alternatives among Newegg.com’s huge inventory fast and simple.

Additionally, Newegg has added new rollover and guided navigation features, category-specific advanced search tools and a new DVD store. The new Newegg.com features more than 135,000 product reviews and more than 100 product categories. Newegg.com continues to offer its broad selection of computer hardware and software, components and consumer electronics, in stock, at great prices. More than 98 percent of orders ship same day.

Newegg.com’s new website also features larger product photos, pre-order/back-order functionality, and a newly developed Item Intelligence section to help customers make informed purchasing decisions by offering pertinent information and rich media such as virtual tours and how-to videos.

Newegg.com will kick off the launch with almost 100 product specials and a daily sweepstakes program that will run for the inaugural week.

Microsoft is sharing more details of its plans to transition customers still using Windows 10 from a free offering to a paid structure if they wish to continue receiving security updates.

The company is phasing out the legacy operating system, which will reach its end-of-life support on October 14, 2025. After this, Microsoft will begin charging enterprise users a monthly fee for Extended Security Updates (ESU). Businesses must purchase an ESU license for all Windows 10 devices in order to maintain security support beyond the cutoff date.

New Nvidia update suggests DLSS 4.0 is closer than we thought

Nvidia might be gearing up for DLSS 4.0. A new update for Nvidia's Streamline pipeline includes updated files for DLSS Super Resolution and Frame Generation that bring the version to 3.7.

This is a fairly small update aimed at developers. I haven't had a chance to try out DLSS 3.7, but like previous updates, I assume this includes some small tweaks to performance and image quality. Nvidia commits these updates pretty frequently, usually centered around reducing visual artifacts in games.

Windows gaming on ARM is becoming a legitimate possibility, and it's not just thanks to the recently unveiled emulation options, but it's chiefly due to the fact that Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite is shaping up to be pretty excellent. Spotted in a recent benchmark, the CPU was seen beating some of the best processors on the current market. Are we finally at a point where it's not always going to be a choice between just Intel and AMD?

The benchmarks were posted by user @techinmul on Twitter, and the results couldn't be more promising for the upcoming Qualcomm processor. The chip was tested in Geekbench 6, and although it's important not to take these results entirely at face value, it's an impressive show of performance that bodes well for upcoming thin and light laptops.
