SentrySafe has announced a 250 GB version of its Fire-Safe waterproof hard drive, designed to keep your documents and data safe in the event of some of the worst types of disasters many people can face: fire or flood. The drive is fully submersible in water for up to 24 hours, and has been third-party ETL-verified for fire protection for up to 30 minutes at a whopping 1,550°F.

“With this new product, we’re able to provide consumers and small business owners with an innovative means to securely back up their important data, digital photos, critical files and documents,” said SentrySafe’s director of customer development Sondra McFarlane, in a statement. “Should an unexpected disaster occur, a person’s vital information will be stored on a disaster-proof hard drive.”

The drive is build around Maxtor’s OneTouch 4 Mini hard drive, and includes a collection of software protection utilities, including Maxtor’s SafetyDrill, a “bare metal” system restore. The drive is enclosed in SentrySafe’s heavy duty enclosure, which offers the heat and water protection.

The 250 GB version of the drive is available now for a suggested retail price of $399.99; 80 GB and 160 GB versions of the drive are also available.

The first 27-inch 4K 120Hz IJP OLED monitor arrives through MSI and TCL CSOT

The future of OLED monitors may have just taken a significant step forward. MSI and TCL CSOT have unveiled the world’s first 27-inch 4K 120Hz desktop monitor built using inkjet-printed OLED technology, bringing a manufacturing method once limited to prototypes and specialist displays closer to everyday buyers.

Called the MSI Pro Max OLED 271UPJW12, the monitor uses a TCL CSOT panel created by printing organic light-emitting material directly onto the display. The process wastes less material than conventional OLED manufacturing and could eventually make panels cheaper and easier to produce at scale.
