Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain launches for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles on September 1, 2015, with a Steam version coming to Windows operating systems two weeks later, on September 15. Confirmation comes straight from publisher Konami, which also confirms that the multiplayer portion of developer Kojima Productions’ latest — Metal Gear Online — arrives on the same day(s).

As is now the standard for these sorts of major game releases, fans have a few different purchase options available with The Phantom Pain. The physical and downloadable versions both offer a “Day 1 Edition” at the base price of $60 (or $50 for the Steam version) that includes an assortment of bonus downloadable content: Adam-ska special handgun, Personal Ballistic Shield (silver), Cardboard Box (Wetland), fatigues (Blue Urban Snake Costume), and an XP boost for Metal Gear Online. The physical version also includes a map for collectors of paper things.

There’s also a $100 collector’s edition, that appears to only be available as a physical release. In addition to the Day 1 Edition’s map, the CE also packs in a half-scale replica of Snake’s bionic arm, a collectible SteelBook, a disc that includes a behind the scenes documentary and an assortment of trailers, and a large number of DLC items.
