Sharp Goes Big With 65-Inch LCD TV

If you are thinking about buying a Plasma TV later on in the year, you might want to consider getting an LCD model instead. That is of course if you have $15,000 dollars burning a hole in your pocket. Sharp plans on introducing a 65-inch LCD Aquos television sometime around this August available only in Japan. Earlier in the year Sharp announced they have developed an 82-inch LCD, but that it would not be available anytime in 2005. So it looks like 65-inches is all you get for now. Sharp also highlighted their new line of LCD models ranging from 22-inches up to 45-inches. These new models are equipped with a new backlighting technology that is supposed to enhance color output.

While we really do not see a lot of people snagging up the 65-inch LCD, it goes to show just how far along the technology has come, not to mention how much prices have fallen. Keep in mind that you can find a 65-inch Plasma TV for under $10,000 dollars, and Plasma televisions arguably still have a better picture when you get into the larger sizes.

We reported Wednesday that Samsung has just finished producing their 100 millionth TFT LCD. LCD prices are falling so quickly that some companies are consolidating their manufacturing plants in an effort to turn a profit. Samsung is also building an LCD plant in China in order to stay competitive.

We're not sure if there are enough stocks to keep up with the demand, so you better make your purchase quickly because you're already in danger of missing out on this bargain.

For those who want to buy from this year's Memorial Day TV sales but are strapped for cash, you can't go wrong with the 32-inch Onn HD Roku TV. It's already very affordable at its original price of $98, but it's down to an even cheaper price of $88 from Walmart. The $10 in savings may not look like much, but you might as well take advantage of it. You're going to have to hurry though -- with more than 1,000 units sold over the past 24 hours, we're not sure how long stocks will last for this budget-friendly TV, so you need to proceed with your purchase as soon as you can.

Why you should buy the 32-inch Onn HD Roku TV
You shouldn't expect much from the 32-inch Onn HD Roku TV, considering its price. It only features HD resolution and an up to 60Hz refresh rate, which are a far cry from the specifications of the best TVs. However, it shines as an affordable smart TV that's powered by the Roku platform. The operating system will let you access all of the most popular streaming services like Netflix and Disney+, and it offers a customizable home screen that will let you launch your favorite apps quicker.
