This automated homebrew machine takes the guesswork out of making beer

Add as a preferred source on Google

Brewing beer is one of those things that lives on the border between art and science. You can try to keep it precise and scientific and pay special attention to volumes, temperatures, and cook times, but in the end it’s usually the little imperfections — the occasional spilling, overheating, or mis-measured ingredients — that give your beer its unique flavor.

Sometimes the resulting brew is disgusting, and other times it’s fantastic. When you screw it up, you just pour your concoction down the drain and head back to the drawing board. But when you nail the recipe, it’s a whole different game. Instead of just starting over, now the challenge is recreating the chaos that resulted in your award-winning brew — a feat that is easier said than done.

Hungarian startup Brewie aims to change all that. The company’s eponymous contraption, which just recently surfaced on Indiegogo, is designed to make homebrewing easier and more consistent than ever by automating the entire process.

In a lot of ways, making beer with Brewie is similar to making a pot of coffee. Just drop in your pre-packaged ingredients (hops/malt/yeast), add some water, and press the “start” button. With the help of an RFID card that contains specific recipe info, Brewie takes care of all the tricky parts (mashing, sparging, boiling, fermenting, cooling, conditioning, etc.), and after a couple weeks, gives you up to five gallons of freshly brewed beer.

But it’s also a bit more customizable than that. To stave off scoffs and hate mail from homebrew purists who would argue that full automation removes all artistry and creativity from of the brewing process, Brewie built the machine to be fully adjustable. Using an accompanying mobile app, users are given full control over 23 different brewing parameters, everything from when ingredients are added to what temperature they’re kept at. As you brew, all of your settings are recorded, so if you ever want to make that exact same brew again, Brewie knows the recipe.

To take their creation past the prototype phase and bring it to production, Brewie’s creators are hoping to raise $100K before New Year’s Eve, and they’re already a quarter of the way to reaching that goal. If you back the project now, you can pre-order a Brewie of your own for a pledge of $1,400. That’s definitely a big chunk of change to dish out for a crowdfunding project, but just think of how much you could save on beer with one of these in your kitchen!

The Google Home Speaker is impressive, until you look at the power cable

The Google Home Speaker hasn't even started shipping yet, but one lucky buyer managed to grab one early and share their first impressions. While most of the news is positive, there's one detail that won't sit well with anyone who cares about repairability.

For the unaware, Google announced the speaker back in October 2025, and pre-orders went live last week. Priced at $99, it's the company's first new speaker in six years, so people have plenty of questions.

Google Pixel 10 vs Pixel 10 Pro

Some Prime Day deals feel like discounts in name only, but after digging through this year's sale, I found a few Google deals that are genuinely worth your attention. Several Pixel 10 models are seeing triple-digit price cuts, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is at its lowest price yet, and a few Nest products are available at prices that are actually hard to ignore. Whether you're looking for a new smartphone, smartwatch, streaming device, or smart home upgrade, these are the Google deals I'd recommend before Prime Day wraps up on June 26.

This Prime Day, Sylvox Is Offering Up To 28% Off Its Frameless Outdoor TVs
Sylvox's Prime Day sale offers discounts of up to 28% across its outdoor TV lineup, including the Frameless Series, Deck Pro 3.0, and Cinema Series.
Indoors, Interior Design, Appliance

Prime Day is often associated with upgrading devices inside the home, but some of the most interesting deals this year are focused on the spaces outside it. From June 23 to June 26, Sylvox is offering discounts of up to 28% on its Frameless Series Outdoor TVs, bringing down the cost of a category that has become increasingly relevant as homeowners invest more in their outdoor living spaces.

The timing reflects a broader shift in how backyards, patios, and decks are being used. What were once occasional gathering spots are increasingly functioning as extensions of the home, doubling up as entertainment areas, outdoor dining spaces, and even wellness zones. As these spaces evolve, homeowners are paying closer attention to the products they bring into them—not just in terms of performance, but also how they fit into the overall design.
