When it comes to holiday gifts that people will actually use, Ring hits the sweet spot between thoughtful and practical. The brand has become a household name for smart home security, combining easy-to-use tech with real peace of mind. Whether you’re shopping for a new homeowner, a frequent traveler, or the friend who’s always checking in on their pets, Ring’s lineup of video doorbells, cameras, and alarms makes a lasting impression.

And with the brand offering up to 50% off during its holiday sale events for the rest of the year, it’s the perfect time to pick up a gift that’s equal parts smart and meaningful.

For New Homeowners

There’s no better introduction to the world of smart home security than the Ring Video Doorbell. It lets users see, hear, and talk to anyone at their door right from their phone, whether they’re at home or halfway around the world. The sleek design looks great in any entryway, and installation is simple enough for renters and homeowners alike.

Pair it with a Ring Alarm Starter Kit to create a complete security system that’s easy to manage through the Ring app. It’s a practical, high-impact gift for anyone settling into a new home or upgrading their safety setup for the first time.

For Pet Parents and Families

For those who love keeping an eye on their pets or checking in on kids, the Ring Indoor Cam is a thoughtful addition to any home. Compact yet powerful, it delivers crisp HD video and real-time motion alerts. It’s perfect for ensuring peace of mind while away or for simply seeing what the dog’s up to during the day.

For outdoor coverage, the Ring Floodlight Cam adds both security and convenience, illuminating dark areas automatically when motion is detected. It’s a gift that gives safety and visibility year-round.

For the Tech Enthusiast

If you’re shopping for someone who already has a few smart home gadgets, the Ring Stick Up Cam or a Ring bundle makes a great addition. These devices integrate easily with Alexa and other smart ecosystems, giving users control and customization right from their voice or phone.

Ring’s higher-end setups also offer advanced motion detection and two-way audio, blending cutting-edge tech with ease of use. They’re the kind of smart upgrades that every gadget lover appreciates but rarely buys for themselves.

The Bottom Line

This season, skip the novelty gifts and give something that truly matters. Ring’s home security devices combine thoughtful design, smart technology, and practical peace of mind in one sleek package. With discounts of up to 50% across cameras, doorbells, and alarm systems throughout the holidays, it’s an ideal time to surprise someone with a gift that keeps them connected, protected, and at ease.

Apple Home

I previously covered the new Apple Home AI features revealed at WWDC 2026, which include several quality-of-life improvements, including auto-updating notifications, smarter camera search, automatic tracking and stitching of multiple videos for a single event, and higher-resolution recordings, among others.

Like many Apple Home features, these features are only available to iCloud+ customers. However, at the event, Apple didn’t notify which plans will get access to these features. Today, we get the answer in the release notes of macOS Golden Gate beta 3, and you are not going to like it.
