Denzel, Chris Pratt, and the boys show swagger on new ‘The Magnificent Seven’ poster

It’s easy to get weary of remakes in today’s Hollywood, but there are plenty of classics out there that deserve to be updated for a new generation. The Magnificent Seven (1960) is certainly one of them, and an upcoming retelling of the iconic Western tale just released some new art.

As reported by Birth.Movies.Death., the film recently debuted its international poster, which features Denzel Washington (Sam Chisolm), Chris Pratt (Josh Farraday), Ethan Hawke (Goodnight Robicheaux), and the rest of the eponymous septet swaggering toward the viewer, guns at the ready.

Its minimalist, blood-spattered design serves to showcase the film’s heroes and leaves little else to focus on. It’s a story about isolated, outnumbered gunslingers, and this latest image evokes that idea very effectively.

You can check out the new poster above, as well as a classic poster from the original film below just for fun. That film starred Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, and Charles Bronson. It also earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Music, Scoring of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture.

If you haven’t seen the original and/or aren’t up to speed on the remake, The Magnificent Seven is the story of seven skilled gunmen who band together to save a village overrun by cold-blooded villains. Despite seemingly insurmountable odds, the group (and this isn’t much of a spoiler) kicks several rear ends and takes several names in the process.

Antoine Fuqua (Training Day, Southpaw, Shooter) is directing the update and has earned a reputation as one of Hollywood’s top action helmers. You can check out the first trailer for the film here.

The Magnificent Seven is set to hit theaters September 23. The film also stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Peter Sarsgaard (Green Lantern), Haley Bennett (The Equalizer), and Byung-hun Lee (Terminator Genisys).

I found a free universal TV remote app for iOS and Android that doesn’t spam ads
AnyRemote turns your phone into a TV remote without forcing a login or subscriptions
AnyRemote Universal remote app on iPhone 17 Pro Max

I have been looking for a universal TV remote app that just works without being annoying. Most of the ones I tried had some kind of catch. Some asked me to create an account before I could even connect to a TV. Some showed annoying un-skippable ads before a simple action. A few locked basic controls like volume behind a paywall, while others simply did not work as advertised.

In that search, I recently came across AnyRemote, a free universal TV remote app available on both iOS and Android. It turns your phone into a remote for your TV or streaming device without forcing a login or making you pay for the core buttons.

Spotify has removed more than half a million streams from Malcolm Todd’s song “Earrings” after finding suspected bot activity, according to a report by Financial Times.

The track, first released in 2024, suddenly rose to No. 1 on Spotify’s daily U.S. chart after a sharp jump in streams. At the same time, traders on prediction market Kalshi had been betting on whether Todd would land a No. 1 song on Spotify USA before the end of June. There is no suggestion Todd or his team were involved in any attempt to boost the song’s numbers. Kalshi has said it is investigating the matter.
