It also includes Razer’s “5G Optical Sensor,” which tracks up to 16,000 dots per inch at 450 inches per second. More importantly for Razer, it is designed to be 99.4 percent accurate, which the company says is an advantage over competitors. According to Razer, most mice are under 90 percent accurate, which means there can be slight deviations in tracking that may throw off gamers.
Aside from the above, the DeathAdder Elite has the features you’d expect from a high-end Razer mouse including Chrome RGBLED backlight support, seven buttons programmable through Razer Synapse, and a 7-foot braided fiber USB cable.
Though new, the DeathAdder Elite isn’t that expensive. It will hit the United States at $70, and Eurozone at 80 euros. It is available through immediate pre-order at Razerstore.com. Best Buy will see the first units on October 2, and a worldwide retail release will happen later in October.
A Gigantus mousepad
Razer is also releasing a new mouse mat that’s big. Really big. The Gigantus is 445 millimeters on each side. That’s about 17.5 inches!
Why so big? Razer says its targeting gamers who prefer to play at lower mouse sensitivity. These gamers often need a large space, because they must move the mouse long distances to swing the pointer across the screen. For some, this can increase accuracy, since it the mouse isn’t as twitchy at low sensitivity.
The Gigantus is available immediately at Razerzone.com, and over the following months will be available in several variations with different Razer logo designs and stitching.
