Chrysler 2013.5 200 SBuilding on its “Imported from Detroit” tag, Chrysler has teamed up with the Detroit-based apparel company, Carhartt, to produce a special edition 200S called the “2013.5.”

The 2013.5 is based on the Chrysler 200 “S” packages, which includes standard features like custom 18-inch aluminum wheels, premium leather seats and a Boston Acoustic premium sound system.

The special edition vehicle features additional unique design cues like a new gloss black mesh grille accented with a platinum chrome grille collar and a lower front fascia in platinum black, which gives the car in even more menacing look than the popular “S” model.

Other exterior details on the 2013.5 include body color sill cladding, platinum chrome belt molding, semi-gloss black wheels and unique “S” and black “200” badges.

Powered by Chrysler’s 283 horsepower Pentastar V-6, the special edition 200S is also equipped with a unique sports suspension.

The air vents, gear shift, front cup holders and steering wheel buttons feature a black finish, which complements the aggressive look of the exterior of the car.

Now, this seems more like something that Eminem would actually drive rather than the standard 200 featured in Chrysler’s 2011 “Born of Fire” Super Bowl commercial.

“The 2013.5 Chrysler 200 S Special Edition celebrates a never-say-die attitude and the value of hard work with a car unlike any other in the marketplace,” said Saad Chehab, President and CEO – Chrysler Brand, Chrysler Group LLC, in the company’s official press release about the car. “The 200 S Special Edition makes the statement that world-class quality and craftsmanship can be designed and developed in the Motor City, and embraced by consumers everywhere.”

Production of the 2013.5 Chrysler 200 S, which will be featured at the New York International Auto Show, will begin in the second quarter 2013.  The price will start at $28,870.

Self-driving cars keep getting in the way of first responders, and Uncle Sam just ran out of patience
Robotaxis are supposed to make roads safer, but first responders say they're becoming a real problem.
Waymo Jaguar I-PACE sensors close up

Self-driving cars are supposed to make our roads safer, but it seems that they are  doing the opposite. NHTSA administrator Jonathan Morrison sent a letter to autonomous vehicle developers this week, and he didn't hold back. He called the pattern of driverless cars getting in the way of first responders "unacceptable," and said a car that can't safely handle an emergency scene is a danger to everyone around it.

Xiaomi built an SUV that doubles as a camping tent, and its range numbers are equally wild
A pop-up camping roof, 300 miles of electric range, and a gas extender for when the tent life takes you somewhere the grid hasn't reached yet.
Car, Transportation, Vehicle

Xiaomi went from selling smartphones to making profitable electric cars and turned profitable in just two years, a feat that took Tesla a decade.

Now, the automaker has unveiled a whole new EV sub-brand called Sky Nomad; it’s answer to the outdoor and family lifestyle market. What’s even more interesting is the lineup’s first vehicle could come with a built-in retractable roof that literally pops up into a camping tent.
