Handmark Gets a Grip on ZAGAT To Go

Handmark Inc. announced yesterday it is taking over distribution and development of Zagat To Go, versions of the famous Zagat Survey Guides for mobile and handheld devices. The Zagat Survey Guides offer highly-regarded customer ratings of dining, shopping, entertainment, and other attractions throughout the United States and for selected international locales. Zagat To Go, originally launched in 2000, offers dining guides for more than 70 major markets, plus ratings for shopping, movies, golf, and night life in selected metropolitan areas.

Current Zagat To Go offerings cost $24.95 a year (trial subscriptions are available) and are currently available for Pocket PC and Palm OS devices, plus a selection of Verizon cellular telephones. Handmark plans to continue developing Zagat To Go for handheld devices while expanding the product to new wireless platforms later in 2005. Handmark is a leading developer of content delivery systems for mobile devices, and also runs MemoWare.com, a large repository of free and shareware content (including ebooks, databases, maps, references, and more) designed for handheld devices.
