Answer Call of Duty 3’s Challenge…on TV!

If you’ve been honing your skills on first-person shooters and strategy games, waiting for your one big break when you just know you’ll be able to make it big…Activision, Best Buy, and Spike TV want to hear from you. The three companies have announced an online casting call for Game Head: Call of Duty 3 Challenge where 16 participants will get a chance to compete against each other in Activision’s forthcoming World War II actioner Call of Duty 3 as well as take part in real-life boot-camp style challenges. The competition will be filmed for broadcast on Spike TV’s Game Head program on November 10, 2006, with the winner earning a grand prize package with an estimated $10,000 to $15,000, including VIP access to Spike’s Video Game Awards, a complete home entertainment system from Best Buy, and trip for two to Normandy, France, site of the WWII D-Day invasion.

Gamers apply by submitting a personal movie which explains why they should be chosen as one of the 16 participants; movies can be up to five minutes in length; and must be received by 11:59 PM PDT on September 4, 2006. Finalists will be flown to a “top secret” military location—which seems to be in or near New York City—for competition and filming from September 20 to 22, 2006. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen or legal resident, in excellent physical and mental health, and have a Microsoft Xbox Live gamer tag.

“The Game Head Call of Duty 3: Challenge combines the in-your-face action that the best-selling video game franchise is known for with the intense physical and mental challenges associated with a military boot camp,” said Will Kassoy, Activision’s senior vice president of global brand management in a release. “The result will be a reality TV event that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.”

The best weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
A soldier standing in an armory.

To the layman, every gun in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 probably seems the same. They all shoot bullets, right? In reality, that couldn't be further from the truth. Even when you take player skill out of the equation, each gun has vastly different stats and applications that make some, even within their own category, just plain better choices for everyone. Each gun is broken down into various stats, including recoil, ADS speed, damage, and much more, which makes it hard to easily compare them. When you factor in just how many guns are available as you level up and keep unlocking more, the prospect of picking the best ones becomes overwhelming. If you're trying to build the ideal loadout to dominate the current meta, these are the best weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for each weapon type.

We will detail the top picks per each class, and then list the rest in terms of how they rank.
