Mobile phone one-upmanship can be a tricky game to play: no sooner have you bagged yourself a top-of-the-range handset than something else comes along to up the stakes even further. Gresso now offers the opportunity to really stand out from the crowd with a solid titanium handset that will cost you the best part of $2k.
Most of your money is going on materials, as the specs aren’t as eye-watering as you’d expect: the mobile runs on a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, comes with 36GB of internal storage, and has a 4.5-inch Gorilla Glass display with a decidedly underwhelming resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Still, that grade 5 solid titanium should be enough to get heads turning in your direction.
The mobile also comes with an 8 megapixel camera to capture the admiring glances of your friends, and dual SIM support so you can run two numbers from it. The $1,800 model is actually at the bottom of the range, with 18k yellow and white gold models on offer for $2,300. Check out the full Radical range of products here.
This isn’t Gresso’s first foray into luxury mobile phones: you may remember the company brought out a Black Diamond range several years ago. You’ll need to make your mind up quickly if you’re after one of the newer handsets, as there’s a limited edition run of 999.
The titanium certainly adds to the weight of the device, which comes in at 219g (the new Nexus 5, in comparison, weighs 130g). That said, you shouldn’t need to fork out extra for a case.
