After weeks of detail dropping, Korean mobile giant LG finally took the full wraps off its latest Black Label fashion phone on Thursday. The new KF750 “Secret” takes design cues from the aerospace and automotive industries, with shiny chrome accents, a tempered glass exterior, and carbon fiber panels.
Like LG’s previous Black Label handsets, the Chocolate and the Shine, the Secret sports a thin sliding form factor. The front LCD has actually been hidden under a pane of glossy tempered glass, which LG claims adds scratch resistance. The back is constructed from woven carbon fiber, which the company says adds stiffness and durability without weight.
Besides a killer case, the Secret’s best functional attributes include a 5-megapixel camera and exterior touch screen. The 11.8mm-thick camera can shoot everything from ISO800 photos to 120 fps video, and the lower touch screen portion of the front allows users to access music, photos, games, documents and FM radio without even sliding open the phone and using the keypad.
Although the official European launch occurred Thursday, LG has not yet released pricing or availability details on the new phone. U.S. customers may not want to hold their breath for the Secret: Asia and South America are next on the scheduled list of launches, and LG’s local redirect for the Secret mini-site doesn’t even include North America on the menu.
