Continuing with the sharply stylized angle that Dell first adopted with its Hybrid Studio Desktops in July, the company rolled out two more Studios intended for home entertainment on Wednesday. The Studio Desktop and Studio Slim Desktop have been designed to fit in well alongside home entertainment equipment, and sport features to match.
While the Studio Desktop closely resembles Dell’s more standard desktops, but with a glossed-up piano-black fascia, the Slim Studio hacks off a decent chunk of its width, looking more like a video game console.
Both come equipped with HDMI output for connecting to HDTVs, 1394a ports for digital video cameras, six USB 2.0 ports for other accessories, DirectX 10-compatible video cards, and Gigabit Ethernet connections for sharing and downloading files. Options include a Blu-ray player, TV tuner, and on the Slim model, a 19-in-1 media card reader (a 16-in-1 comes standard on the Studio Desktop.)
Both desktops are available immediate with prices starting at $549.
