AT&T Adds LG Incite to Touch-Screen Crowd

Tacking yet another piece onto its growing raft of touch-screen smart phones, such last week’s HTC Fuze and Samsung Eternity, AT&T snuck yet another such phone out the door in time for the holidays, on Tuesday. The LG Incite features a touch screen, 3G access and even haptic feedback for its virtual QWERTY keyboard.

The phone’s 3-inch touch display switches between two on-screen keyboard – a full QWERTY version in landscape mode and a truncated 20-key version in portrait mode. Both vibrate to respond to input. LG also includes a stylus for navigating the touch interface with more precision.

Like the Fuze and Eternity before it, the Incite will run Windows Mobile 6.1, though without the dressed up interfaces that Samsung and HTC both built to run on top of the aging operating system. Other bundled Microsoft software includes Microsoft Office Mobile, ActiveSync 4.5, and Windows Media Player 10.

On the hardware side, the Incite also offers Bluetooth 2.0, built-in Wi-Fi, aGPS through AT&T Navigator, a 3.0-megapixel camera, and support for up to 16GB of additional memory through microSD cards.

The LG Incite is available immediately from AT&T for $200 with a two-year service agreement and $100 mail-in rebate.
