Good OS may be best known for gOS, the operating system wrapped around Google services that has appeared on many ultra-budget Everex machines, but the company proved on Monday that it wasn’t just a one-trick pony in the OS game. The company has announced on a new operating system, dubbed Cloud, that makes the browser the center of the user experience.

Unlike gOS, which included both a browser and many other free desktop applications, Cloud has only a browser that runs on top of an extremely condensed Linux kernel. As a result, it boots in only seconds, giving users nearly instant-on Internet access. To give power users more flexibility, it also has a button to quickly boot into Windows XP for access to more conventional tools.

Gigabyte will be the first company to pick up the OS in an upcoming line of touch-screen, tablet-style netbooks. The company plans to release them on Jan. 8 at the beginning of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Instead, a Redditor turned one into a glowing acrylic DeX box with spare parts, fans, a USB hub, and the kind of LED lighting that makes every homebrew computer look mildly illegal.

Windows 11 suffering from RAM crisis

If your Windows 11 PC suddenly looks low on storage, your downloads folder or game library may not be the problem. According to Windows Latest, a bug tied to a Windows system file can silently consume tens or even hundreds of gigabytes on the system drive.

The file in question is called CapabilityAccessManager.db-wal, and it sits inside Windows’ Capability Access Manager folder. Windows Latest says the issue may appear as unusually high “System files” usage in Windows 11’s storage breakdown, even though the Settings app does not clearly identify the exact file responsible. In some reported cases, users saw it grow to 200GB, and even more.
