MSI Drops GeForce 9800M-Equipped GT627

Add as a preferred source on Google

MSI’s affordable and ever-expanding line of of gaming notebooks just put on some major muscle in the graphics department. On Monday, the company announced the new GT627, which will be the first to make use of Nvidia’s hotrod 9800M GS graphics processor.

Like the other P-series notebooks books, the GT627 gets a shell trimmed in black anondized aluminum with red accents, along with MSI’s Turbo Drive engine for pushing the notebook to its limits when power isn’t an issue, and Eco Engine power management for when it is.

Guts include an Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at 2.26GHz that can be overclocked by 15 percent with the touch of a button, support for up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 320GB SATA hard drive, and of course, Nvidia’s 9800M GS.

The 15.4-inch screen used in the GT627 sports unusually high 1680 x 1050 resolution. There’s also an optional Blu-ray drive, and the entire setup weighs in at 5.8 pounds when equipped with a 6-cell battery.

The GT627 is available immediately with a base price of $1,100, or $1,300 with the optional Blu-ray drive.

It continuously processes what the user is saying while also generating its own response, allowing it to decide when to talk, when to pause, when to keep listening, and when to use a tool.
