EQD Corporation has launched itself into the LCD TV market with the launch of its new Auria line of high-definition televisions, ranging from 16 to 42 inches in size and offering features that appeal not only to television viewers, but also for folks looking to hook up displays as commercial signage or for use as computer monitors. And not only is EQD promising the displays are high quality and up to 20 percent cheaper than their competitors, but a portion of the proceeds from the TVs’ sales will to to the Armed Forces Foundation and Miracles for Kids charities.

“As tough economic times are changing the HDTV landscape, and with the federally mandated switch to digital TV signals, EQD has entered the marketplace in a unique position that will allow us to provide high-quality, high-value Multiple Function Monitors (MFM) as HDTVs and PC displays at the lowest possible price,” said EQD CEO Steve Woo, in a statement. “This business model will not only help us meet the needs of today’s consumers and businesses, but it will also allow us to give back to the community.”

EQD’s displays will range from a 16-inch 720p model to a 42-inch full 1080p unit, with stops along the way at 22, 24, 26, 32, and 37 inches. Both the 22- and 24-inch models offer full 1080p resolution, along with the 37-inch and 42-inch models. ED claims the Auria televisions sport the same components as quality of top-selling LCD TV brands—and they’re willing to back up that claim with a two-year warranty. Each Auria TV features a piano black finish, integrated ATSC/NTSC/QAM tuners, and HDMI inputs. Some units will offer RS232 ports for digital signage applications.

EQD hasn’t announced pricing for its units—save to say they’ll be “as low as 20 percent less than its closest competitor.” Units should start going on sale from online retailers in March and April of 2009.
