An accessibility-first add-on that’s also a statement piece

What’s happened? A few days back, Apple gave us the “iPhone Pocket,” a $230 knitted pouch for the iPhone. Now Apple is back with another quirky accessory: the new Hikawa Phone Grip & Stand, a designer collab product with Bailey Hikawa, that magnetically attaches to your iPhone.

  • The limited edition stand works as a chunky grip and stand that can latch onto any iPhone with MagSafe compatibility.
  • Comes in exclusive finishes via Apple store in fluorescent green color (officially “Chartreuse”) and what looks like a speckled stone finish (officially “Crater”) for $70.
  • You can also get in extra colours (Blue, Swirly Blurple) through Hikawa’s own store.

This is important because: Apple isn’t pitching this as just another cute add-on. The grip was developed using feedback from people with disabilities affecting muscle strength, dexterity and hand control, and it’s part of Apple’s 40-year accessibility push.

  • It has an ergonomic shape with ridges with a central opening to support different ways of holding the phone.
  • Soft-touch silicone for a stable, less-slippery feel during long use.
  • Apple says the Hikawa Phone Grip & Stand has been designed as an adaptive accessory first, not a “style then accessibility later” product.

Why should I care? The grip stand can help you hold your phone more securely and reduce hand strain.

  • Want to watch a video or join a FaceTime call hands-free? Flip it into stand mode, set it on a table, and you’re done. No more leaning against books or pillows.
  • Makes one-handed texting, clicking pictures and holding the device easier, especially on bigger iPhones.
  • If your current case supports MagSafe, this accessory snaps on and off quickly and requires no extra setup.
  • The soft-touch silicone and bold colour finishes make it a perfect blend of a design statement and a grip accessory.

Samsung's latest foldables can double as a USB webcam for your laptop. The Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, and Flip 8 all support the USB webcam feature, which first debuted on Pixel phones back in 2023 before Samsung brought it to the Galaxy S26 series earlier this year.

Instapaper just had its biggest update in years, and it’s packed with goodies
New website, new iOS app, and AI Voices for Android, Instapaper's glow-up has arrived.
Instapaper iOS app

Apps like Instapaper are essential for keeping my reading goals in check. I cannot always read an article in full when I come across it, so the ability to save articles in a read-it-later app is a must-have feature for me. After Pocket's demise, Instapaper became the alternative most people flocked to.

And now the company just handed its users a massive update to be thankful for. The company rebuilt its website from scratch, redesigned the iOS app around Apple's Liquid Glass look, and finally brought AI Voices to Android. Let's break down what's actually new.

How much does Apple’s Upgrade plan cost to lease devices and is it worth it?
The age-old ownership vs. subscription fight hits Apple devices.
Computer, Electronics, Laptop

Apple just gave you a new way to own an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch without buying it. The newly launched Apple Upgrade program lets you lease Apple hardware through Klarna instead of paying full price upfront, and I'll admit that the monthly numbers genuinely look tempting.

I went through Apple's own published rates device by device to figure out where this actually saves you money, and where it's just a slower way to pay full price for something you'll never own.
